PORSCHE OFFERED THE ”SLANTNOSE”, OR "FLACHBAU" (IN GERMAN PORSCHE FACTORY SPEAK MEANING "FLAT CONSTRUCTION" OR “FLAT BUILD”), OPTION UNDER THE "SONDERWUNSCHPROGRAMM" (SPECIAL ORDER PROGRAM) FOR THE 930 TURBO BEGINNING IN 1981. THE CONCEPT OF FITTING AN AERODYNAMICALLY SLICKER NOSE WITH LESS FRONTAL AREA TO THE STANDARD 911 WAS INSPIRED BY THE PORSCHE 935 RACE CARS THAT MADE THEIR WAY TO LEMANS VICTORY IN THE LATE 1970S. EACH “FLACHBAU” UNIT WAS HANDCRAFTED BY REMODELING THE FRONT FENDERS WITH “SLANTING” LINES AND FLIP UP HEADLIGHTS, AND ADDITIONAL BODYWORK THAT INCLUDED ROCKER PANEL EXTENSIONS, AND UNIQUELY STYLED INTAKE VENTS AHEAD OF THE REAR WHEELS. VERY FEW OF THESE CARS WERE EVER BUILT WITH THIS SPECIAL SLANTNOSE OPTION “505”, IN FACT, ONLY 948 UNITS LEFT THE FACTORY IN ZUFFENHAUSEN FROM 1981 TO 1989 AND ONLY 60 OUT OF THE 948 WERE MADE IN 1989, MAKING THIS CAR RARER THAN THE LEGENDARY 1973 CARRERA RS.
THIS 1989 930 TURBO SLANTNOSE COUPE WAS RECENTLY ACQUIRED FROM A LOCAL COLLECTOR IN HIGHLY ORIGINAL AND UNRESTORED CONDITION WITH ONLY 30,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. THE 1989 MODEL 930 TURBO WAS ALSO THE ONLY YEAR OF THE MUCH-IMPROVED G50/50 FIVE-SPEED TRANSMISSION (AN IMPROVED AND STRONGER GEARBOX) AND THE FINAL YEAR OF THE “G-BODY” 911S BEFORE MOVING TO PRODUCTION OF THE 964 SERIES 911S. Lil Hot Stuff is finished in classic Guards Red with a lightweight bespoke black and red stitched quilted leather interior. Momo customized signature sterling wheel, Recaro seats, FIA Sparco 4 point harnesses
4 speed Porsche 930 transmission with limited slip mated to a 3.3L Twin spark turbo charged engine with XDI200 programmable ignition coil on plug system producing over 600hp. With a full width intercooler nestled under a ducktail lid refinement of a 1974 911 IROC RSR. Front and rear bumpers compete the IROC look.
The car was painstakingly built from the ground up. All running gear has been replaced or refurbished. It features a bespoke turbo exit pipe with twin outlets and zero mufflers for maximum noise and flame. New Bilstein coil over shocks and suspension bushes.
New brakes, calipers, booster, master cylinder and lines. And importantly, modern Griffith 3 condenser air conditioning.
This ultra wide body sits on Jongbloed custom built racing wheels with 335mm of rubber in the rear to harness all that horsepower.
2021 updated LED headlamps by NineEleven and rear circle lights by Laurenteile.
