2 USED BRASS FACE QUARTZ CLOCK MOVEMENT PENDULUM BOBS 2 3/4"D & 2 5/8”D FITS 1/4” W FLAT DOWN RODS
These are generally used in quartz clock assemblies. The down rod is generally a flat bar rod that simply slides into the back slot in the Bob.
The flat bar/rod is normally 1/4”W to 5/16”W.
The left one in the pictures will only accept a 1/4”w or less down rod!
The right one in the pictures looks only to accept a rod that has the long threaded thin rod attached to the flat bar. It is usually long enough to allow for an adjustable weight to be screwed on the bottom of the rod. The threaded rod is no more than 1/16” thick. This is the bob that is 2 5/8” in diameter!
The Bob’s are held in place by friction between the metals.
The face metal is brass sheet crimped over a steel back.
These two are used and have NO protective plastic film on the brass face to prevent scratches. Some polishing will be needed to make them presentable. Do this last to get the best results!
As for the flat ring shown in the pictures I don’t have a clue! It was in the same bag as these two when I acquired them so I’m including it here.
